Interestingly, the notion of visual vs other types of βlearnersβ has been mostly debunked by modern investigations - but thatβs more to say thatβ¦ probably _everyone_ would benefit from this kind of diversity of learning material (not just those who consider themselves more visual).
Hi Haustraliaer - thanks for the link! I didn't know this, and this will certainly change how I talk about this type of content in the future. I like the sound of "everyone would benefit" :-)
I only recently stumbled across it, like a week ago β previously I would have definitely said I was a "visual" learner.
Been doing quite a lot of Dataviz in the last year or so and thinking about how to teach complex stuff, when words vs images are appropriate etc, is very front of mind for me right now.
I've been following your blogs since way back in the AS3 world and have always found them easy to consume. I think this is probably why.
I wonder if us visual learners are drawn to front end development for this very reason. I certainly believe it to be the main motivation behind my urge to create better UIs.
Quite possibly! If you like working with pixels, front-end development seems like a natural extension :P
As Haustraliaer mentions in the comments below (the linked YT video is great!), it may just be that all learners typically prefer content to be presented using a combination of words, images, and videos/animations.

Hereβs the vid I watched quite recently which goes into it: https://youtu.be/rhgwIhB58PA

No worries!

Looking forward to your book!
This would be precisely what I'm looking for.
