You may not know this, but the KIRUPA site is ad-free and has been ad-free for quite some time. The way the site sustains itself is through book sales, and the primary way readers discover my books is through reading online reviews on Amazon. You may be wondering why the site doesn't serve ads. The reason for it is quite simple. Nobody likes them! It doesn't matter how relevant, lightweight, and privacy-focused the ads are. At the end of the day, ads detract from the overall learning experience. That immediately makes it a non-starter, so phasing out all ads and monetizing through book sales made a lot of sense at the time. It still makes a lot of sense today, especially with your help.
Am I insane for doing this? Probably! Drop by the forums and chime in or simply ping me via Twitter to let me know your thoughts on this.
